Wow. jostar_369 just sent me a message tellin me that I've neglected my LJ recently. I apologize for doing so, although I must admit that it isn't completely intentional :o) I don't have a particularly steady net connection at the moment as I'm still staying at Mom and Dad's, tho not for much longer as if all goes well we'll be sleeping at our place starting tomorrow night! More on this to come...

Lots has happened in the last month since moving back to Saskatoon. I just finished week number 3 at the company I'm working for now. Lots of learning. Lots of really neat information and I think I'm going to enjoy my job. Apart from looking for work, we spent the first 2 weeks of being here looking at places to live.

House hunting was quite entertaining. Jer was a ball of stress the entire time, poor guy. We opted for looking at condos and townhouses as he's thinking he'd like to go back to school at some point soon. We did check out some smaller houses as well and saw one we liked, but it was overpriced for what it was I think.

We ended up buying a condo here in Wildwood (literally 4 minutes away from Mom and Dad's). It's just over 1000 square feet. Two bedrooms, a den, a semi-workable kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, laundry room and a storage room off of the balcony which is also quite large. The bedrooms are a tad on the small side, but it works. We offered less than the asking price and they took the offer almost immediately. We got posession of it on Monday, started painting Monday night, finished painting on Wednesday night, did touch-ups and cleaning yesterday and had the furniture moved in this morning. Now all we have to do is get the net/cable or satellite and phone hooked up in the near future and we'll be nearly set. We would like to rip out the kitchen and redo it in the semi-near future as it's in not such great shape. The counter tops are in pretty bad shape, and it I'm going to replace the counters, I might as well do the cupboards so that we can have what we want :o)

I should start packing up the stuff I have strewn around the room here so it's at least sort of ready to take over to the condo tomorrow.

jostar_369 we miss you guys and will hopefully have everything set up for some gaming in the (very) near future!

So when we checked into our swanky hotel yesterday, the Manager upgraded us to a room with a King sized sleep number bed AND gave us vouchers for the breakfast buffet for EVERY day we're here. I don't know what was up with the upgrade but I'm not complaining :)

We woke up this morning and wandered out to do some laundry and then headed to the Toronto Zoo. By the time we actually got to the zoo and through admission it was about 1:45pm. We wandered around seeing allllll kinds of nifty animals. My personal favorites were the Golden Lion Tamarins simply because they were so cute although the Marmosets were pretty cute too...heck all the animals were cute.

After the million mile walk from the car, around the zoo and back to the car, we were both pretty hot and tired (it was pretty warm outside today too!). Jer wanted to come back to the room and relax but I wouldn't let him 'cause I don't wanna deal with stiff and sore boy. I made him come swimming in the nice warm hotel swimming pool and then sit in the hot tub for 15 minutes to loosen up and relax...we had both completely to ourselves too! I taught him how to swim properly...he tried drowning me more than once...especially while he was trying to swim. Now we're back in the room, waiting for supper to be delivered...yay for room service!

If any of you from Saskatoon of Vancity want/need anything lemme know soon 'cause Jer's going up to see Marc tomorrow and I have a free day in Toronto :)

We're now in Toronto sitting in our nice cold hotel room trying to think of where to go for lunch/dinner. We got to the airport and went to the car rental place. We had originally reserved a Dodge Charger, however when we got in the car, Jer couldn't move the seat forward enough to reach the pedals as the seat was actually broken. Because of this, the rental place gave us an upgrade to a Lincoln MKZ. Nice car. Any who, off to find food 'cause I'm hungry. Miss everyone in Chicago already!

Well boys and girls, due to a comedy of errors it looks like we won't be getting the house in the previous link. This sucks, but such is life. We'll just have ta find something when we get there in September :)

In the good news department, Jer gets home tonight!

August 25 - Leave St. Louis to go to Chicago for a visit with Kar, Matt, Brian, James and Becky
September 1 - Leave Chicago to go to Toronto
September 8 - Leave Toronto to go to Kitchener
September 14 - Leave Kitchener to go to Niagara Falls
September 16 - Leave Niagara and drive to Toronto, Jer flies to Vancouver and I fly to Saskatoon.

All I can say is lots and lots of flying! hehe. I'm so excited!

Bea just came down to give us our mail...there was a registered letter for Jer containing a $1000 gift certificate from the Brick. Apparently we won it when we purchased tickets for the Children's Hospital Home Lottery. Second year in a row that we've won something. Last year it was an $80 gift certificate for Visions hehe. Next year: The house!

Hey All! I just wanted to say a quick Happy Canada Day to everyone.

To my American friends who read this, Happy (almost) Independence Day!

I just got home from work...think I'm gonna order some chicken from Swiss Chalet for supper and then make myself one of my yummy margaritas :) I got too much booze in the house and I don't wanna have ta move it hehe.

Provided Jer and I get passports all figured out, it looks like we'll be going Vancouver - St Louis - Chicago - Toronto and then from Toronto, Jer's gonna go see a friend of his for a day while I either lounge around the hotel or check out some shopping in Toronto or sumptin and then from Toronto we'll be going to Kitchener/Waterloo and then go see the Falls. It's gonna be a busy almost-a-month!
